Tusks: International Showcase Fund
For:
CMW Showcase Performance
Newly signed to One Little Indian, Tusks – a.k.a 24-year old London based artist and producer Emily Underhill – will be performing at the Musicglue showcase at Canadian Music Week 2016.
Tusks‘ self-produced debut EP Ink has clocked up over a million streams on Spotify and pricked up the ears of Radio1, 6Music, BBC London Introducing, Amazing Radio, Mixmag and numerous blogs. Over the past year she’s gigged regularly around London with the likes of Phoria, Jarryd James and Dream Koala, also joining Submotion Orchestra on their UK tour and packing out her set at last year’s Great Escape.
The PRS Foundation International Showcase Fund award has enabled Tusks to travel to Canadian Music Week 2016, and Canada, for the very first time. This wouldn’t have been at all possible without the crucial funding support. Tusks is in the early stages of her career and raising her profile in territories outside of the UK/Europe is integral to creating a worldwide fan base and generating/solidifying key label, publishing and live interest in North America. We are exceptionally grateful to PRS Foundation for their extensive support and for helping to ensure opportunities are able to be taken in order to significantly develop Tusks‘ career.
