Carey Mackenzie : Early Career Promoter Fund

Concise Description of activity: Develop my brand, reach new audiences and build new relationships by working with local LGBTQ+ musicians to promote a regional tour.

Bio: Carey is based in the South West and is enhancing the music and events scene for rural LGBTQ+ communities. She hosts and promotes DJ and cabaret nights which spotlight local LGBTQ+ artists as well as draw in wider talent to the area. Her events are usually based in parody, popular culture and politics. Thanks to PRS Foundation funding, Carey will work with new LGBTQ+ artists and connect with other venues in rural areas. She will be organising a regional tour for an emerging local musician and is looking forward to gaining the new skills that come with coordinating an extended set of events rather than one-off nights.
