Charlotte Furness : Early Career Promoter Fund

Concise Project Description : “Music in Unusual Spaces” is a series of music shows in Bradford, taking live performances to people in everyday, unexpected places.

Biog : Charlotte aka Life & Soul Seeker is a Bradford-based music promoter and co-founder of ‘Bradford Music Scene’ a local collective dedicated to showcasing the city’s diverse talent in new and exciting ways. She has a track record of delivering innovative grassroots music events, including “Let Them Eat Cake” which champion underrepresented artists and promote inclusivity. Passionate about breaking down barriers to live music, she focuses on making gigs more accessible, surprising, and community-driven.

Funded Activity: Music in Unusual Spaces “Music in Unusual Spaces” is a bold new project bringing live performances into everyday locations across Bradford. Instead of waiting for audiences to come to traditional venues, these pop-up gigs will take music directly to the people—whether in a bookshop, an ice rink, or even a local train station. Each event will feature a mix of genres, from synthwave and funk to gospel and folk, ensuring an unpredictable and exciting experience. This project celebrates Bradford’s rich musical diversity, giving local artists a platform in fresh, unconventional settings while engaging audiences who might not usually attend gigs. By working closely with local venues, businesses, and cultural partners like Bradford Music Scene, Bradford Producing Hub, and Bradford 2025, the aim is to create a vibrant, city-wide experience that sparks curiosity and builds new connections between artists and audiences. With its mix of creativity, inclusivity, and Yorkshire grit, “Music in Unusual Spaces” is set to transform the way people experience live music in Bradford.
