Clod Ensemble: The Open Fund for Organisations

Award winning composer Paul Clark and Artistic Director Suzy Willson formed Clod Ensemble in 1995. With music and movement at the heart, Clod Ensemble has three key objectives:

To create unique, visual theatre combined with original live music to positively challenge preconceptions by both artists and audiences.

To enhance education and well-being of a diverse range of people through encouragement, performance and promotion of music and theatre.

To generate creative opportunities for musicians and performers.

Its musical vision is led by Paul Clark, who has written new scores for all the company’s productions to date.

Clod Ensemble are the recipients of a PRS for Music Foundation Award which is allocated towards the creation of a new composition for their new show Zero (working title) for 6 musicians and singers, loosely inspired by the textures of Doo Wop and early R&B. Zero is based on Shakespeare’s King Lear. It will also be allocated to the early development stages and draft composition for a new choral piece, ‘Elegy’ and it will enable them to continue to deliver our projects Extravagant Acts, Living Room
Music and Beginners Guide, exposing at least 1,000 people young and old to music.
