Cortney Dixon: Women Make Music

Cortney Dixon, artist, producer and guitarist from South Shields makes fun-driven indie pop bangers, elevated by her indie-rock guitar-tone and unique vocal performance. Her music has landed on numerous Spotify New Music Friday Playlists and has received plays on Gemma Bradley’s BBC Radio 1 Introducing show, Tom Robinson’s BBC 6 Music Mixtape and BBC Introducing in the NE. As well as her highly energetic, captivating live performances with her band, Cortney also produces wildly creative and eccentric music videos for each of her singles. Cortney’s influences include the likes of Blondie, David Bowie, HAIM, Kate Bush and Cyndi Lauper.

Recording, releasing and promoting my first body of work

Having only released singles, it is now time for Cortney to create her first body of work and thanks to Women Make Music funding, Cortney will spend her 2024 recording and releasing her first official EP.

The EP will consist of 7 brand new tracks that best represents Cortney’s direction as an artist in 2024. She will produce the body of work herself in her studio with engineer, Rob Irish. Following the completion of the tracks, a full release plan is in place, with the first 2 singles dropping in the spring. A vinyl release of the EP and a headline show will launch the release of the full body of work. There will be a full marketing campaign around the EP, consisting of PR, Radio Plugging and digital advertising as well as visual content created for each song on the EP.
