Danny Green: Early Career Promoter Fund
Concise Description: To develop Night River through new venues and formats, delivering paid grassroots performance opportunities for early-career PRS songwriters while building sustainable audiences.
Bio: Danny Green is an independent music promoter, songwriter and producer based in Somerset. He is the founder of Night River, a long-running intimate live music series in Frome that has built a reputation for presenting outstanding emerging and established artists in a unique, close-listening environment. Alongside his work as a promoter, Danny writes and releases music under the name DG Solaris and works with artists as a producer and collaborator. His work is rooted in a love of songcraft, atmosphere and creating meaningful shared experiences around live music.
With support from PRS Foundation’s Early Career Promoter Fund, Danny will deliver a series of carefully curated live events across Somerset, featuring a mix of established and emerging independent artists. These shows will take place in a range of intimate venues, with a focus on high-quality listening environments that allow audiences to connect deeply with the music.
The programme also includes the development of new participatory formats, including a Songbook event that invites audiences to engage more actively through collective singing and shared musical experiences. The funding enables Danny to take greater creative and financial risks in his programming, support artists more sustainably, and invest in growing audiences for grassroots music in the region.Through this work, Danny aims to strengthen the local live music ecology while continuing to build a distinctive, artist-led platform that values intimacy, community and musical depth.
