MATED LIVE ‘BEAT’ AT ELECTOWERKZ
Dave Eniolu is founder and promoter of MATED, a London-based event night rooted in diverse, experimental grassroots music. Since its launch in 2023, MATED has never been confined to a single genre, instead operating across a range of musical landscapes – an approach both intentional and reflective of London itself. Through its programming, MATED creates spaces for artists pushing boundaries across multiple genres.
January 2025 saw the launch of ‘one light’ an event night based around dream pop, trip hop and everything in between. Building on this momentum, MATED will launch their very first event night: ‘Beat’, with support from PRS Foundation. This will be the seventh edition of their fully live-focused event series, MATED LIVE. BEAT is a concept driven night rooted in experimental electronica and hard drum, specifically exploring the undeinable effect African percussion traditions have in electronic music. This event will platform artists whose work draws directly from traditional African rhythmic practices, while pushing boundaries through electronic experimentation.
