Django Django formed in 2008, they self-released singles in 2009 and 2010. Both singles created a buzz in the music industry and at press, radio, online and in 2011 they signed to Because Music. Their debut album is being released on January 30. They have a UK/EU booking agent (Primary Talent) and have toured extensively throughout the UK and EU.
Having already built a level of momentum in the UK and EU the overall objective of playing at SXSW is to create more buzz outside UK/EU in order to secure domestic album releases in all major international territories, build an international touring business and to play in front of music industry/promoters/media from North America and around the world. Receiving the PRS for Music Foundation funding has enabled Django Django to be at SXSW and will help them achieve those objectives.
