Douglas Dare: The Open Fund
Short Project Title: Douglas Dare’s Orchestrated Fifth Studio Album
Project Description: Douglas Dare will use PRS Foundation support to create and record his fifth studio album. Recorded with producer Fabian Prynn between 4AD’s studio and the Erased Tapes Sound Gallery in London, the album will feature ten new compositions for piano, voice, electronics, clarinet and string quintet.
Developed in collaboration with arranger Ell Kendall and musicians from the London Ambient Orchestra, the project marks Dare’s first full-length work to place strings at the centre of his songwriting. Building on recent performances with orchestral ensembles, including the London Ambient Orchestra and Manu Delago at Wigmore Hall, the record will expand his music into a richer and more dynamic sound world. The album represents a significant step in Dare’s artistic development and will form the foundation for future orchestral performances across the UK and Europe.
Bio: DEJA is a black pop-powerhouse and a force to be reckoned with. She’s sassy and bold. So is her music. She places relatable and fiery lyrics on sticky rhythmic Afro-Pop. Lower your sunglasses as DEJA’s songs are the ‘verbal eye-rolls’ you never knew you needed. Her rapid trajectory saw her play Glastonbury Festival in 2025 and amass millions of streams on her viral tracks ‘Sippin’ and Mo Farah. Previously supported by the MOBO Awards, her brave artistry and unapologetic love of womanhood makes her an artist to watch.
