Eerf Evil: POWER UP Music Creator

Bio: Raised in the heart of South London, Eerf Evil (aka Live Free) is a rapper, community organiser, and cultural producer, best known as the Co-Founder of Hip-hop Jazz collective “The Silhouettes Project”. Using music as a vehicle, Eerf bridges the gap between his community and the wider world. “The artist’s role is to speak on behalf of their community, and I want to use music to elevate what’s going on around me,” he explains. Growing up on ’07 UK rap, Eerf believes music should carry a critical message that gives the next generation a complete picture of society. As he quotes Dapper Dan: “We need multiple angles in the rap scene – the gangster and the conscious both co-exist and both need the space to breathe.” For Eerf, it’s about bringing consciousness to the mainstream.

A prominent figure in the Hip-hop and Jazz community, Eerf has performed at major festivals including Glastonbury, WeOutHere, Cross the Tracks, and Bricklane Jazz Festival. He is now preparing to release his debut album “It could all be so simple”. “It’s not just about rap,” he emphasizes, “it’s about being in my community every day to make sure my people are good. Rap allows me to communicate in real time what’s going on for my people.”

Beyond music, Eerf is Head of Youth Programmes at CKFE building intergenerational wisdom and creating sustainable, community-led initiatives addressing social, economic, structural, and systemic injustices faced by young LEx change-making communities, using music and knowledge as a catalyst.

Concise Description of activity: ‘ICABSS Youth Club Immersive Tour’ – Eerf’s Album will be transformed into an interactive hip-hop art installation toured in Youth Clubs across the UK.
