Errollyn Wallen: Belize-born British composer/musician. Appointed Master of the King’s Music in 2024 by King Charles III. She is the first black woman to serve in the position.

Errollyn Wallen’s remarkable career, culminating in her appointment as Master of the King’s Music, exemplifies PRS Foundation’s commitment to supporting established composers. As Errollyn states “I love the way the Foundation is in touch with trends right across the board and has at its heart the creation of new music… ” Wallen’s career has been supported by Women Make Music, enabling the promotion of her music and creations. New Music Biennial boosted Wallen’s resources, helping to fund performances of her compositions, and enabling her to reach new audiences. The Composers Fund allowed Wallen to continue pushing creative boundaries, compose groundbreaking new works, and inspire future generations of composers.
