Faith Eliott : Women Make Music
About :
Faith Eliott is a songwriter and visual artist. Born in Minneapolis, they moved to Scotland nearly two decades ago. These days, they can be found on a narrowboat somewhere between Edinburgh and Glasgow. Through storytelling and world-building, they illustrate intuitive landscapes populated by hagfish, Pleistocene volcanoes, cursed memes, and late-Renaissance apocryphal monsters lurking in the aisles of Asda. Sonically, Eliott combines a stripped-back, lyric-driven approach with electronic textures and orchestral contributions from frequent collaborator Robyn Dawson. Eliott’s two releases to date have received significant critical acclaim, including radio play on BBC Radio 4, Late Junction, and 6Music.
Faith Eliott launches new album ‘Dryas’ with PRS funded events
Eliott is currently preparing for the release a new album titled ‘Dryas’ early next summer. The PRS Foundation’s Women Make Music fund will support them to host two extra special album launch events in Edinburgh and Glasgow, where Eliott will reunite with the musicians featured on the album for full-band performances. These performances will be enhanced with Eliott’s signature handmade props, backdrops, and other visual treats to provide an immersive experience for attendees. The funding also supports a session video filmed on the narrowboat where Eliott lives, featuring string player Robyn Dawson, who also produced the ‘Dryas’ album. This intimate video will highlight stripped-back performances of select tracks, adding a personal accompaniment to the album’s release and bringing ‘Dryas’ up close for those who can’t attend the launch events. Additionally, the audio recordings of these versions of the songs will be made available separately further down the line!
