Fiction are a four-piece band from London, formed in 2009.

Members Mike Barrett (vocals, keys, drums), James Howard (vocals, guitars, drums), David Miller (vocals, bass) and Nick Barrett (guitars) coalesce to create what has been described as ‘perfect, anarchic pop’.

The band have recently toured with Warpaint, Klaxons and Metronomy and have recorded live sessions for BBC Radio 1, BBC 6Music, XFM and Diesel Radio. These performances have produced encouraging reactions, such as: ‘the most startling new live act I’ve heard all year’ (Tom Robinson BBC 6Music).

Three singles have been released to date: ‘Curiosity’, ‘Big Things’ and ‘Parakeets’, two of which achieved Artrocker’s ‘Single of The Month’. All singles have received national airplay on BBC Radio 1, 2, 6Music and XFM. The celebrated ‘Big Things’ was selected for BBC 6Music’s B-List, XFM’s Xposure playlist, and was featured on the Kitsuné Maison 11 compilation. The song was also chosen for Ford’s latest advertising campaign which ran for 6 months, and was the most requested, most downloaded and most popular TV Ad Music track of 2011, as stated by tvadmusic.co.uk.

Fiction have a long and continuing affiliation with South London art collective, ‘Off Modern’, under which they released their last single, and headlined their monthly night at Corsica Studios. In 2010, Fiction collaborated with BlackBox Sessions at The Roundhouse, Camden, to deliver an unusual and captivating live broadcasted performance on Myspace’s home page.

Their output continues to be documented, reviewed and discussed in various esteemed publications. Dedicated articles have appeared in the NME, Dazed and Confused, Tank, and Clash magazine. They have also been selected to be photographed by Hedi Slimane and Mick Rock. After signing to Moshi Moshi/Co-Op in November 2011, the band will release their much anticipated debut album in June 2012.
