Fiona Soe Paing is a Scottish/Burmese singer, producer, and sound artist based in Aberdeenshire, North East Scotland. Her work is inspired by landscape, folklore, and traditional ballads, exploring the relationship between place, memory, and voice. Drawing on North East song traditions while moving them forward through experimental recording and production, she creates immersive, site-responsive works. Her acclaimed album and live show Sand, Silt, Flint received four-star reviews from The Guardian, The Scotsman, and Songlines, and was described by Iggy Pop on BBC 6 Music as “advanced and beautiful.” Fiona’s previous work has been supported by Creative Scotland.
