Freak Slug is a Manchester based Singer, Songwriter and Painter who is managed by Andy Spence at Only Helix and signed to Future Classic records. The name Freak Slug encapsulates Xenya Genovese’s artistic world perversely and perfectly. Her releases under the name so far – debut 2020 EP Videos and its viral hit “Radio” and follow-up EPs I’m In Love (2022) and Viva La Vulva (2023) have amassed over 70M streams to date and with the advent of debut album I Blow Out Big Candles, this Slug is burrowing down into evermore unlikely places!
This international showcase awarded for Freak Slug goes a very long way in supporting her and her band to travel to and appear at SXSW 2025 which is a fantastic opportunity that will help to establish Freak Slug in the US market, the biggest market for indie / alternative music in the world.
