We’re beyond excited to welcome Georgia to our CMJ 2015 showcase with BBC Introducing, announced last night by Huw Stephens on Radio 1. Back in early August, Domino released the debut album by the multi-instrumentalist Georgia Barnes. Entirely written, performed and produced by Barnes, Georgia is the outcome of years worth of work, demonstrating not just innate skill but also an enviably eclectic taste. Rough Trade made the LP their Album Of The Month for August, and had this to say:

Elements of the glacial yet hyper-melodic tone of early 00’s grime, sweltering, mid-summer west London dub and ragga, sophisticated pop, first wave post-punk agitation, the formative influence of Missy Elliott and the high-concept, illuminated sound-design work of contemporary artists such as The Knife and Hudson Mohawke run through ‘Georgia’, a record that reveals new layers of intrigue and ingenuity with every listen.

Georgia joins Pretty Vicious, Clean Cut Kid, The Jacques and The Big Moon, all playing at Rough Trade NYC for CMJ 2015. For more information, head here.
