Get Inuit: Momentum
Activity: Get Inuit will be starting the production of their debut album at the start of 2016 using the funding from PRS Foundation’s Momentum Music Fund. This injection of funds will help the band pay the fee for the recording space and the required fees for the team to mix the record and produce the album as well as the cost of mastering. It will also give us the ability to free up personal finances to start the promotion required to build the awareness of the band from January onwards and help us continue to build the bands profile.
Momentum has enabled us to up our game from a DIY self recording act, to a platform where we can create the best quality of work that’s on a par with any major artist. Freedom to create is what any band wants and Momentum has given us just that.’ – James Simpson, Guitarist
Biog:
Heralding from the sunny streets of the South East of England, Get Inuit play dirty indie guitar pop. The band spent 2015 bringing their fuzzed-out live show to festival sites across the UK including Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Bestival, Y Not and others. All DIY, the band self produce, and record and mix all their output including making their own music videos and artwork from their own Squarehead recording studio in Kent.
Named as one of the acts to watch for 2016 by Gigwise, Tipping Point & XFM, the debut EP ‘001’ was released in February of 2015 on Alcopop Records, and single ‘Mean Heart’ shortly followed in May, gaining radio play across the board from Huw Stephens, Annie Mac, Greg James and an XFM playlisting. Sophomore EP ‘Luge Lessons’ arrived in November with debut single ‘I Am The Hot Air’ featuring on Made in Chelsea and ‘Electrify’ landing on regular rotation on MTV Rocks. Expect a raucous pop-tinged debut album in 2016!
