Grandmas House: Women Make Music
The recording and release of Grandmas House’s upcoming EP
Bristol-based, queer punk-trio, made up of Yasmin Berndt (vocals, guitar), Poppy Dodgson (vocals, drums) and Zoë Zinsmeister (bass), are known for their fast and raucous guitar riffs, thumping bass lines and aggressive drums.

Combining their love of post-punk with surfy melodies, Grandmas House have created a captivating sound that grabs you right by the throat. With vocals compared to artists ranging from The Raincoats to Motörhead and described musically as a mix between Courtney Barnett and The Slits, the original, fresh sound coming from this band is undeniable and has taken Bristol’s music scene by storm.
Grandmas House will be using their Women Make Music grant to help fund the recording and release of their long-awaited upcoming EP. Having spent the last few years honing their craft, and developing their skills in songwriting, the latest music is a real step up on the band’s already incredible sound. They have been coined as one of the best bands fuelling the punk revival scene, and this new music only builds upon that. Thanks to the support of The PRS Foundation, Grandmas House now have the ability to record their new music and promote its release.
