Griminal: POWER UP Music Creator
Bio: Joshua Ramsay, better known as Griminal, is a pioneering British grime MC from Plaistow, East London. As a core member of the N.A.S.T.Y Crew he is part of grime’s most influential families, being the younger brother of Marcus Nasty, Mak10 and Lil Nasty.
Growing up in a household central to the genre, Griminal was sitting outside his brothers’ bedrooms at age 11, listening to sessions with Dizzee Rascal. He began his career as part of the youth wing “Younger Nasty before merging into the main crew in 2005. By age 15, he was involved in one of the most legendary rivalries in Grime history. He famously clashed with Chip on Axe FM and Rise FM, with both artists widely considered the best MCs of their age at the time.
In 2010, at age 19, he signed a major label deal with Universal Records. During this period, he released tracks like “Supa Dupa” and “Invincible” that leaned into a more polished sound. He also released two tracks with Ed Sheeran. After his early success, Griminal entered a nearly decade long hiatus from the spotlight. He has since opened up about dealing with an “invisible barrier” during his peak, where mental health struggles and addiction prevented him from fully embracing his success. Griminal is making a much anticipated comeback having already released a number of tracks including Back At It, Lincoln,When I’m Ere & The Baddest feat. collabs with the likes of Alesha Dixon, Nolay, Tinchy Stryder, D Double E etc.
