Bleached Club is a London-based, community-first electronic music platform dedicated to enhancing accessibility for up-and-coming and underrepresented artists looking to build a career in the electronic music scene. Bleached Club run celebrated electronic music club nights at grassroots venues, including The Glove That Fits in Hackney. The platform seeks to provide talented grassroots artists with a holistic offering to develop their portfolios, play to an engaged audience, and ultimately delivering enjoyable, exciting club nights which exhibit strong up-and-coming talent in techno, bass, and more experimental forms of electronic music. Run by four members who understand first-hand the difficulties of making it onto the intimidating London club track, Bleached Club acts as a valuable stepping stone for underrepresented electronic music artists to enter the world of club bookings, agencies, and label releases.
Beyond club events, Bleached Club run monthly radio shows on Threads Radio showcasing talent, as well as enabling artists to tell their story in written and audio interviews. Their website also features editorial written content designed to give a voice to wider electronic music community. Against the backdrop of the cost-of-living crisis, club closures, and broader difficulty in maintaining an artistic career, the platform is dedicated to fair pay of artists while also ensuring low ticket prices to make events accessible to the audience. Bleached Club is incredibly grateful to PRS Foundation for supporting their project, and the invaluable funding which enables the work the platform seeks to achieve. At its core, Bleached Club is designed as a platform enabling talented, up-and-coming artists to kickstart their careers, be comfortable in creative risk-taking, and deliver valuable, enjoyable club experiences!
