Hidden Door Festival: The Open Fund for Organisations

Hidden Door Festival will put on a series of outdoor live music gigs in unusual locations across Edinburgh in July 2021. These pop-up performances will see stages erected in surprising spaces and will not only feature some of the most exciting up and coming Scottish music talent, but will see them collaborate together to make a series of totally unique shows.

The series of collaborations will begin online, with musicians working together with visual artists, film makers, and dancers to create engaging live-streamed performances exploring themes and ideas and pushing how creative they can be with the online format to make something special for the audience. In the lead up to each live stream they will generate a range of online content such as interviews and behind-the-scenes glimpses that will give the audience insights into the musicians’ work and their collaborations.

The musicians and artists will then develop their online live streamed shows into full live experiences for live audiences in the summer in Edinburgh. Hidden Door will build a series of unique outdoor stages and performance spaces in some surprising, abandoned parts of the city, creating some incredible backdrops and settings for the collaborative projects to build in to their shows, making sure that when we bring live music back it will be an incredible experience for everybody.
