Himalayas: Momentum
Himalayas are a four-piece garage rock band from Cardiff who have spent the last few years honing their sound and style. Bonded by their love of bands like The Strokes, Queens Of The Stone Age, Muse, Royal Blood and Manic Street Preachers, their blend of heavy guitar lines, dual vocals and huge anthemic hooks have captivated audiences old and new.
Releasing their first tracks in 2017, they were quickly picked up by the likes of Huw Stephens and Greg James at Radio 1, and over in the states on Jason Kramer (KCRW). Tracks including previous single, ‘Thank God I’m Not You’ have amassed an incredible number of streams on Spotify, tipping 22 million and counting.
Having played at countless festivals, sold out venues and received an impressive amount of radio and international interest they move forward in 2020 with an EP. In the last year they have performed on the Festival Republic stage at the Reading & Leeds Festival, SXSW and The Great Escape. Sadly lockdown has prevented the band from touring – their April dates being moved to November – so they are keen to keep fans interested with new music and as many online sessions as they can do under lockdown restrictions. We are hoping a solid online presence during lockdown coupled with the release of new music will garner interest from labels and publishers.
