In Place of War: Open Fund for Organisations
EarthSonic
In Place of War (IPOW) has worked with communities across the world in areas affected by conflict who are using art for societal change. IPOW has worked on grassroots music projects, both recorded and performed, in the UK and across 26 countries, engaging audiences of over one million people. IPOW has over a decade of experience supporting music creators in a variety of contexts to create, produce and perform.
PRS Foundation will be supporting us in our new project focused on art and climate change, EarthSonic. EarthSonic is a global project telling the story of climate change through music, working with indigenous communities, musicians, cultural organisers, scientists and climate activists and experts. The project will utilise the power of the arts to promote awareness and direct action against this global issue facing us all. We will rework sounds collected by scientists of climate change to create an album with artists across the world and host a series of concerts, including the first concert ever hosted on a glacier!
