Isatta Sheriff: Women Make Music

Bio: In 2021, Isatta Sheriff released her self-produced EP A Kind of Biography, featured as Bandcamp’s Release of the Month. She followed with Eat The Kiwi Skin (2022), a jazz-rap collaboration with Koralle that has amassed 5 million streams, including “Window Thoughts” featuring Lex Amor, named BBC 1Xtra’s Track of the Week. She’s performed across Germany and at All Points East with Sian Anderson, with support from BBC Introducing, BBC 6 Music, and Spotify’s Jazz Rap and New Music Friday. A long-standing presence in UK hip-hop, she continues to break ground as both artist and producer.

Project Description: Isatta Sheriff is crafting a new album that she has both written and produced. The project reflects a year of sonic exploration and artistic refinement, as Sheriff shapes a sound entirely her own, that is rooted in her dual role as artist and producer. She’s working with handpicked collaborators and this record marks a pivotal moment in her journey: a self-directed statement that blurs genres and further cements her place as one of the most distinctive voices in UK rap.
