Jack Boynton : Early Career Promoter Fund

About :

Hi I’m Jack a recipient of The PRS Foundation’s Early Career Promoter Fund. I’m from Lancaster a tiny city with a thriving music scene fueled by the effort of community music hubs and grassroots venues. I got my start at More Music mentoring young musicians in rehearsals through to performing on stage. I’m a sound tech at the Melodrome Mobile Stage bringing music to the most remote parts of the country. This year I launched my promotion BaccyJ N Folio Productions. With this funding I’m going to attract the biggest artists I possibly can and stick them on the same line-up as the emerging musicians from down the road. My aim is to put Lancaster on the map and start expanding BaccyJ N Folio Productions. These gigs will act as a stepping stone and safe space for audiences and artists alike bringing professional live music production and fair pay to a small part of the larger music industry. There is an abudance of resources, support and mentors to begin musicians down their path, but these artists will quickly find themselves choked by the limited capacity of Lancaster. I want to bridge the gap between playing grassroots venues and the professional world of the music industry, both for myself and all the other musicians from my home.

Project Description :

I will put 4 safe and accessible gigs with 3 – 4 acts on each line-up at The Gregson Community Centre
