James Booton : Early Career Promoter Fund
About :
BOOT – – – MUSIC Magazine is an online and in print publication aimed at showcasing the best new music across the North West. Our main aims are highlighting local emerging talent, building a welcoming community of music fans through live events and providing a platform for young writers, photographers, videographers and music lovers to explore their creativity and gain experience within the industry. Our print issues run quarterly and are available for free across select locations on Merseyside including record stores, cafes, music venues and creative spaces. Our main focus is on local music and we have featured the likes of Miles Kane, Crawlers, STONE, Red Rum Club and PIXEY as well as many more smaller emerging acts but we do also feature some major artists from outside of the North-West, with past interview features including The Hives, Declan McKenna, The Snuts and Caity Baser, to draw a bigger audience to the magazine and, in turn, get more eyes discovering music from Merseyside and the North-West. The PRS Foundation funding will be supporting our live launch events which coincide with the release of our next four print issues. These live shows will provide a place for the emerging artists featured in the magazine a place to showcase their talent as well as creating a space for our BOOT – – – MUSIC community to connect and allow everyone to pick up a free copy of the print issue. The final of these four events will be BOOT FEST 2025, an all-day festival taking place at Future Yard on June 14th 2025 showcasing the best new live acts on Merseyside.
