jasmine.4.t: International Showcase Fund (SXSW 2025)
Biog: Jasmine has just released her debut album to wide critical acclaim, including much US press and airplay. SXSW is the ideal moment to introduce her to the US market – from bookers and promoters to journalists and broadcasters. This grant will help her cover some of the huge costs of showcasing at the festival. She has lined up a fantastic week of shows and thanks to PRS Foundation will be able to play with her full band. She has a tour in April and May opening for Lucy Dacus, so being able to start laying the groundwork for these dates in March will be hugely valuable.
This opportunity couldn’t have come at a better time, and she is so excited to make the most of it. As a trans woman, she feels a huge weight of responsibility to use her platform for the greater good and to help share her stories, even her darkest moments, as a message of hope. These shows come at a time when that is in short supply for the trans and wider LGBTQIA+ community in the US, so this trip feels even more important.
