Short Project Title: JayaHadADream’s Next Mixtape Project
Bio: JayaHadADream is a Jamaican Irish rapper from Cambridge reshaping UK rap with raw lyricism, poetic storytelling and a bold genre blending sound. After leaving her job teaching A Level Criminology in 2023 to pursue music full time, she quickly emerged as one of the country’s most exciting new artists. Her breakout single Twiggy and her win at the 2024 Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition marked a major turning point, followed by standout performances at Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, Boomtown, BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend and SXSW London. Her rise has been supported by consistent national radio airplay, acclaim from Rolling Stone UK, NME and TRENCH, and co signs from Emeli Sandé, Joy Crookes and Fred again.. In 2025, Jaya released her debut mixtape featuring Frisco, Keeya Keys, Capo Lee, Bruza, Footsie and Big Zuu, following a double win at the Youth Music Awards. She has since completed her first five date UK tour and was named DJ Mag Best Of British Best Upcoming MC, cementing her position at the forefront of the next wave of UK rap. With support from PPL Momentum, Jaya is developing her next independent mixtape. The funding is supporting professional recording, mixing and mastering, alongside the creation of high quality visual content including press imagery, artwork, music videos and social assets. It is also enabling a focused marketing campaign across press, digital advertising and radio, helping her reach new audiences and build long term momentum as an independent artist.
