PURPLE COLLECTIVE has been an energising force in the Manchester nightlife scene since its conception in winter 2022. Following a series of successful jam nights, intimate spoken word events, and electrifying club events across five venues in the city, the collective was awarded the PRS FOUNDATION’s Event Support Grant. The grant will be a transformational asset for Purple Collective and the communities they impact, allowing them not only to pay fees that are more aligned with their values and are more suitable to the experience of their artists, but also giving the collective the capability to book nationally recognised names, provide more platform to Manchester-based creatives, and expand their fanbase across the north of England. This funding will be instrumental in levelling up the organisation from a regular fixture in the Manchester scene to a cornerstone of cutting edge practices and musical excellence in the nightlife landscape. Purple Collective will put on one jam night in December at SOUP, a club night in February in the same space, and three spoken word/jazz events at Fuel between November – March, bringing together some of the biggest names in the city, up and coming homegrown talent, and performers based in cities as far afield as London, Liverpool, Leeds and Newcastle.
