Bio: Junior Simba is a Zimbabwean born, Leeds-based DJ, producer and curator, who has been carving out a distinctive space within the UK electronic music. Drawing on the sounds that shaped his upbringing ,he blends Zimbabwean musical heritage with the energy and innovation of UK club culture. His productions flow from introspective, emotive moments to bass-driven, percussive club weapons. His rise has been marked by widespread recognition. A Beatport Next and a Spotify Fresh Finds artist. Nominated for a Radio 1 Dance Award: BBC Introducing Artist of the Year, alongside Barry Can’t Swim, Taahliah and Hannah Laing. His track “Precision” crowned Essential New Tune by Pete Tong, while The Blessed Madonna named him as to watch.
Live, Junior has built a reputation for high-energy, deeply rhythmic sets that connect audiences across clubs and festivals worldwide. Making appearances at Glastonbury, Hideout, Snowbombing, Way Out West, Field Day, Lost Village, Creamfields, Parklife, and Radio 1’s Big Weekend. Club highlights including Warehouse Project, Razzmatazz, Watergate Berlin, Pikes Ibiza, Fabric and Phonox. Beyond this, Junior runs Sometimes We Party, his grassroots party series that has built a community across Leeds, Manchester, and London. Deeply invested in the cultural landscape of his adopted city, he continues to expand his creative practice through multidisciplinary projects, recently “Reflections”, an interactive audiovisual installation exhibited at Leeds City Museum.With commitment to representation and cultural exchange, Junior is building a legacy that celebrates his heritage, champions Leeds, Black and African talent, bringing their stories to the forefront of electronic music.
