Kate Whitley: Women Make Music

A new work by Kate Whitley written specifically for performance in a disused Multi-Storey Car Park in Peckham, involving local school and youth groups performing alongside a symphony orchestra of outstanding musicians from across the UK. Since its first performance in the Car Park in 2011, The Orchestra Project has been described as ‘the most exciting development in classical music in decades, if not centuries’ (The Times); as well as giving annual performances in the Car Park the orchestra tours local schools, and this new piece is part of its education and outreach work in 2013.
