Katie Sutherland: Hitmaker Fund

Glasgow born Katie Sutherland began her career as a singer-songwriter in the guise of ‘Pearl & The Puppets’ signed to Universal Republic.

Katie enjoyed great success not only in touring (Elton John, Alphabeat, Sugababes, The Hoosiers), but also having many of her songs placed in tv/film syncs including Vodafone, Orange, Google, Maxinutrician, Victoria’s Secret and ‘Tamara Drew’ to name just a few.

After taking some time out to start a family, Katie has returned to what she loves most, creating infectious songs with unforgettable hooks.

Her songwriting success has landed her on many playlists including BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 music and many more.

On the back of co-writing tracks for The Hunna’s silver certified album ‘100’ including the single ’Piece by Piece’, it has led her to currently write with the likes of IZZY BIZU, Alex Hosking, Lexi Berg, DYLAN, Alex Smith, Jimmy Hogarth, Ash Howes, Nick Gale (Digital Farm Animals), Jez Ashurt, Jake Gosling, Kolidescopes, James Lewis and Troy Miller. Katie also frequently collaborates with Glasgow based producer Ross Hamilton aka Buzz Killer.

She is a strong vocalist and multi-instrumentalist with a profound knowledge and love of memorable melodies/ hooks.

With cuts planned for release in 2022 on various major labels, it looks like a promising year ahead for Katie.

Whether it is writing to track or organically from scratch, there is no end to her talent.
