Lazy Day: Women Make Music

Lazy Day began life as the solo bedroom project of Tilly Scantlebury. After recording songs in her makeshift bedroom studio, news about Lazy Day spread so quickly that she put together a four-piece band, whose live shows soon became known for their warmth and energy. Everyone’s invited to the party, nobody is left out. Momentum was building for the band, and the summer of 2020 should have seen Lazy Day play the biggest shows of her career, including a European tour with Jay Som and festival performances at Green Man, Halden Pop, Waves Vienna and more.

With live performances on hold due to Covid-19, Tilly took the opportunity to develop her own production and focus on songwriting, refocussing her creative vision for Lazy Day. She was drawn to Women Make Music because at its core Lazy Day is a one-woman project which has seen Tilly bring the songs from her bedroom to life on the big stage. PRSF funding will help with the recording of Lazy Day’s debut album, allowing Tilly the freedom to co-produce her own work, whilst also helping her to bring it to life with the collaborators – including producers, mixers and her band – she has built the Lazy Day world with. Above all, Tilly wants her album to capture all the fun and feeling of her Lazy Day world, and can’t wait to make the debut album she’s always dreamed of making!
