Lekan works in artist management (Intricate Management).Working over the years with clients such as Astroid Boys, Baby Queens, and Deyah.
His background is dj-ing in clubs /local radio. In 1996 he joined the Sony Street Team under the management of DJ Semtex, promoting artists such as Lauryn Hill, Destiny’s Child, Ginuwine, Jill Scott, Jagged Edge, Mobb Deep, Wu-Tang, Cam’ron, Xzibit, John Forte etc. He interviewed artists for Sony Music ‘s “Free Base” nationwide free magazine, promoting album launch parties.In 2001 the team moved to Universal Music Group to do urban marketing for Mercury Records and Def Jam UK promoting artists like Jay-Z, DMX (RIP), Ja Rule, Kanye West, Roni Size, Terri Walker etc.
In late 2000’s Lekan was regional events manager for ILUVLIVE events in his hometown Bristol. <br />He brought down artists from London to perform with local artists and live musicians, with MTV filming. In 2018, he helped curate Festival Of Voice in Cardiff selecting artists Children Of Zeus, Reykjavikurdaetur (Daughters of Reykjavik), the late TY, (RIP), Chester P, AAA Badboy and NonameDisciple . Lekan was also involved in organising an additional discussion panel talk about the history and future of the Welsh Hip Hop scene, hosted and moderated by Debbie “Cookie” Pryce (from the Legendary Cookie Crew). From 2019 onwards. Lekan is involved with The Crate 808 Podcast which is dedicated to 90’s Hip Hop culture. Previous guests have been DJ Premier, Pharoahe Monch and Black Thought.
