‘Lily Beau is a Cardiff-born, Welsh-speaking, Irish-Jamaican singer-songwriter whose musical roots trace back to a home soundtracked by crackling vinyl jazz on Sunday mornings and movie soundtracks on Friday nights.
At 16, she moved to London to study music, and subsequently began working in A&R. After six years working behind the scenes, Lily made the leap to do what she truly loves—writing and releasing her debut EP, Little Old Me. The five-track project saw four singles land on BBC Radio Wales’ Welsh A-List, with additional support from BBC Introducing Wales. In late 2024, she was invited to perform at Maida Vale Studios for the BBC 1Xtra R&B Cypher. In 2025, BBC 1Xtra Introducing began supporting her fourth single “Dream” – fitting, given how surreal it’s all felt.
Highlights of Lily’s career so far include performing with Tony Visconti’s Unsigned Heroes for Sky Arts at Union Chapel, sharing the stage with Bob Geldof, Imelda May, and Stewart Copeland. She’s represented Wales at the Nobel Peace Centre, composed the Welsh Government’s post-pandemic reopening theme (performed for the late Queen), opened the Lovebox mainstage, and supported artists such as Jack Savoretti, Joel Culpepper, Janet Devlin, and Mace the Great.
Now, with the PRS Momentum Accelerator award, Lily steps further into her artistry. It’s both a homecoming and a beginning – an exciting step into fully cementing her artistry, with music that’s been living in her since childhood and is only just beginning to be heard.
