Lo Rays: Women Make Music

Bio: Lo Rays is a Glasgow-based modern rock band that blends glitchy synths, pop hooks and powerful guitar riffs – often pairing their music with post-apocalyptic visuals. Lo Rays has been named a ‘band to watch’ by BBC Introducing Rock on Radio 1 and nominated for an ‘Act of the Year’ on BBC Introducing Scotland. Their music has been played regularly by BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio Scotland. Led by the Finnish singer-songwriter Laura Takala, Lo Rays has supported the likes of I See Stars, VUKOVI and North Atlas.

Project Description: PRS Foundation will be supporting the creation and marketing of a new Lo Rays EP. This funding will enable Lo Rays to continue working with producer George Perks, who has worked with award-winning bands such as Enter Shikari, Caskets and Skindred. In addition to recording, Lo Rays is able to continue developing their visual story by combining cyberpunk-inspired DIY 3D animations and green screen work, with professional videography.
