The upcoming shows aim to electrify the local music scene by showcasing a diverse range of talent that deserves to be celebrated by a wider audience. With a focus on the rising genre of electro-punk, these events will highlight how artists are creatively blending styles to produce vibrant and exciting sounds. To kick off the shows, there will be a huge launch party right in the heart of Liverpool, hosted at one of the city’s renowned independent venues. The night promises an exhilarating lineup featuring local artists and DJs, with the stage set for a headline performance by Nixer, an Irish electro-punk band from London:‘Nixer began as a conversation online at the beginning of the Global Pandemic. What seemed like an ordinary catch-up back in April 2020 has turned into something far more profound. The pair’s debut EP ‘People Feel’ received BBC 6Music support from Iggy Pop, Lauren Laverne (her ‘While You Were Sleeping’ pick), Steve Lamacq (featured & interviewed as a ‘Spotlight Artist)’ & 6Music’s Introducing Mixtape. Nixer also received airplay from Jack Saunders as his ‘Next Wave’ on the BBC R1 Indie Show as well as featuring on Spotify’s New Music Friday UK. The first single of 2023, ‘Pleasure’ received support across BBC R1 from Jack Saunders, Tara Kumar & Gemma Bradley. ‘Irish Dancer’ was also met with critical acclaim with continued support from Jack Saunders as well as multiple spins from Steve Lamacq on BBC 6music.’Following the anticipated success of the launch event, there’s a promise of two additional gigs on the horizon, ensuring that audiences have more exciting performances to look forward to.
