Lucy White: Early Career Promoter Fund
Concise Description: Three club nights showcasing women and non-binary DJs 30+, alongside guest headliners, expanding regional audiences and developing my skills, networks and growth as a promoter.
Bio: I’m Lucy White — a DJ, producer, live artist promoter, and community organiser based in Gloucestershire. I run three projects:-
1.Big Sis DJs, which is a DJ collective, event series, community and DJ academy supporting women and gender-marginalised DJs
2. Good Neighbours, a party series in Bristol which brings Stroud DJs over to play and share their sound on a line-up alongside some friendly Bristol DJs.
3.Neon Pumps, which is my artist name as a DJ, Producer and Live Artist and the banner I use for curating events as “Neon Pumps Presents”.
I set up Big Sis DJs to create spaces where new DJs, especially women and queer artists, could feel welcome to access and learn about DJing. Since launching, I’ve put on 3 sold-out club nights under the Big Sis name, run 12 DJ taster workshops, and sold out 5 6-week beginner DJ courses. These are hosted at Stroud Brewery, Deya Brewery in Cheltenham and Cafe Rene in Gloucester— brilliant independent venues that have supported me from the start and share the same values of inclusion and community.
With the support of PRS, I am programming a series of three electronic music club nights taking place in Stroud, Cheltenham and Gloucester between March and July 2026. These events will platform women and non-binary DJs aged 30+ who have trained with me through Big Sis DJs, giving them structured post-training progression opportunities and visibility within the regional dance music scene. Each event will pair 4–6 newly graduated Big Sis DJs with 1–2 mid-career guest headliners from Bristol or London. My main aim is to create and curate inclusive spaces where fun and joy and connection around music can happen – both behind the decks and on the dance floor!
