These days we see Pigeons as nothing but a nuisance, dirty down and outs flapping around our ankles and squabbling over scraps. But not so long ago they were our dearest friends, in fact our very lives depended on them. Taking us back 100 years ago to the trenches of the First World War Lunabug bring to life the incredible story of one very special Pigeon, named ‘Cher Ami’. Storytelling, puppetry and live music combine to make your heart race and your imagination take flight.

Lunabug Theatre tell original stories with a heart-warming charm. Honest and playful, we create a visual adventure for audiences old and young. We are committed to creating high quality contemporary theatre for all the family to enjoy. We take our audience with us on a magical journey that is crammed with imagination and full of twists and turns. We create a beautiful blend of visual imagery and original sound design, which is all combined with our playful brand of physical storytelling.

We want to contribute to the 2014 centenary of WW1 by creating a brave, interdisciplinary theatre show using our experience of dealing with big themes for young audiences and their families.

We are very excited to be working with musician, sound designer and composer Chris Reed. Chris is a founder member of Paper Cinema and will be helping by creating the themes and sounds of Pigeon through live and recorded music and foley – live sound effects!
