Lunick Bourgess: POWER UP Industry Professional

Short Bio: With over 12 years music experience, I started as a music manager, managing local acts at the University Of Hertfordshire. I then got my first job as a A&R Scout at Virgin EMI Records/Universal. I signed MoStack. Mostack went on to become a platinum-selling artist working with the likes of J-Hus, Dave, Stormzy, AJ Tracey, Aitch + many more. I A&R’d his gold selling single “What I Wanna” as well as A&Ring his debut album “STACKO” which peaked at number #3 on the UK’s Official Album Charts (OCC). I also signed platinum-selling artist Hardy Caprio who had a string of platinum hit singles including Unsigned, Best Life and Guten Tag. I also signed Tion Wayne earlier on his career and helped him collaborate with NSG which led to Tion Wayne having his first platinum single “options”. I also signed Drill’s first platinum selling artist Russ Millions. I first signed Russ Millions of the back of his breakout hit “Gun Lean” which became the first Drill top #20 record in the UK singles charts. I then introduced Tion Wayne to Russ millions and put them in the studio together which led them to create the smash hit “Keisha & Becky”. Ex Managing Director at Dream Life / Sony Music. I am now running Umbrella Songs, a grammy award winning independent publishing company in partnership with Kobalt.

Concise Description of activity: I will be investing the grant into studio space, recording costs, music workshop, Travel costs to give our writers more creative freedom.
