LVRA EP3 Recording, Release & Promotion

LVRA is the alias of 22 year old producer and vocalist Rachel Lu. Originally from Edinburgh, 2021 was a break-out year which saw LVRA win ‘The Sound of Young Scotland’ the Scottish Album of the Year Awards, play her debut festival set at Reading and Leeds for BBC Introducing, as well as building a reputation as an electrifying live performer through supports with IGLOOGHOST, Low Island, Walt Disco and The Ninth Wave. Her sophomore EP TWO also received widespread support at press and radio alike, including Radio 1’s Gemma Bradley, DIY, The Line of Best Fit and Paper Mag amongst many others.

2022 kicked off in similar style with the release of a short documentary aired on BBC Scotland exploring how Rachel’s identity in intertwined with her musical journey, print features in the Scottish national press and festival bookings rolling in for the summer. Her most recent release (Feb 2022) is an all-female collection of remixes featuring TAAHLIAH, Effy and Jessica Winter that built on existing widespread editorial support at Spotify, as well as looks at tastemaker press and radio. With the support of PRS and Women Make Music, Rachel plans to complete her third EP over the summer and to release music towards the end of the year culminating in a debut headline show in Glasgow, filmed to further promote the project.
