Bianca Rose: Lynsey de Paul Prize Runner Up 2016

Bianca Rose: Lynsey de Paul Prize Runner Up 2016

British/Jamaican/Nigerian singer-songwriter Bianca Rose has been writing and composing music for the best part of a decade.  In 2007 she self- released her debut EP Truth and Tiny Tragedies, has performed throughout London, the UK and Europe, and has continued to collaborate and write songs for other artists ever since. Bianca is now poised to release her debut album No Fear Here.

“The No Fear Here album is an uplifting discourse on a wilderness period which resulted in a halting of my personal creativity. This album encompasses the very initial thoughts and lessons learnt after successfully navigating through this time back to my creative processes and outlets.
Musically, ‘No Fear Here’ is an expansive interpretation of the singer songwriter genre, fusing my folk/gospel sensibilities with both mine and the album’s producer, Femi Temowo’s African diasporic perspectives. This amazing prize will be used to contribute to the mastering, manufacturing & promotional fulfillment of this album release – Thank you!”

“After self-funding the creation of this debut album, I’m beyond grateful for this Lynsey De Paul prize, which will help me release this body of work in a manner I believe the music and the effort given to creating it, deserves.  As an independent artist, support like this is both critical and encouraging – thank you!” – Bianca Rose
