Project Title: Marketplace – 6 Track EP 2026

Bio:

Marketplace are an indie-pop band from Hartlepool who have quickly grown into one of the North East’s most exciting emerging acts. Known for their infectious melodies, sharp songwriting and high-energy live shows, the band have built a loyal following through their music and engaging performances. Recent releases have received support from BBC Radio 1, Radio X and BBC Introducing, alongside national press coverage and festival appearances including The Great Escape, Kendal Calling and Y Not Festival. With sold-out headline shows across the UK and an upcoming showcase at New Colossus Festival in New York, Marketplace are firmly on the rise.

This award is supporting Marketplace to write, record and release six singles across 2026, which will be brought together as an EP at the end of the campaign. The funding will support the recording, release and promotion of the music, enabling the band to share a new body of work that reflects their current sound and direction.

The project supports Marketplace at a pivotal moment in their career, as they prepare to showcase internationally while continuing to grow their audience in the UK. By releasing new music alongside live activity, the award helps the band connect their strong regional foundations with wider national and international audiences, while continuing to collaborate with creatives and partners based in the Tees Valley.
