Maud the Moth: Women Make Music

Full live band arrangement and rehearsals for “The Distaff” Maud the moth is the solo project of Spanish-born and Scotland-based artist Amaya López-Carromero.

With a passion for singing inherited from a family steeped in the Castilian oral folk tradition and a vocation for composition amplified by classical studies during her formative years, Amaya has spent her life traversing contrasting landscapes, cultures and scenes, developing a unique genre-bending identity within the new contemporary alternative European music scene.

Maud the moth’s uncompromising and cathartic work has garnered critical acclaim and led to performances at prestigious international festivals such as Roadburn, Primavera en la Ciudad, ArcTanGent, Rock in Bourlon, etc.
