Bio: Meera Blackburn is a creative producer and music curator dedicated to championing women in music and advocating for fair pay within the independent scene. As the founder of Solstice Sounds Live, she has created a platform rooted in equity, visibility, and meaningful opportunity for emerging artists. With a strong focus on independent pop, Meera is passionate about addressing the challenges faced by female artists, from underrepresentation to unequal compensation. Through her work, she creates inclusive, thoughtfully curated live events that not only showcase talent but actively support artists’ professional growth and financial sustainability. With support from PRS, Meera Blackburn is bringing ‘Solstice Sounds Live’ to Brighton for the first time, expanding its growing community beyond London. The event will feature four independent female pop artists, creating a space where both performers and audiences can connect, discover new music, and support one another. The Brighton show will celebrate diversity within the independent pop scene, spotlighting artists from a range of backgrounds and experiences while encouraging openness, representation, and shared understanding through live music. Alongside the performances, the event will also feature contributions from a painter, adding a visual art element that enriches the overall experience. Audience members will also be able to enjoy thoughtfully curated goodie bags, helping to create a memorable and engaging atmosphere.
