Miss C Brown: POWER UP Industry Professional

Short Bio: Miss C (Carla) Brown is a visionary in music technology, publishing, and artist development, with a track record of empowering independent artists and reshaping the industry’s approach to digital royalties. As co-founder of Syncdin, she is on a mission to reduce Black Music artists’ contribution to the “Black Box”—ensuring rightful earnings through metadata tracking. Carla has curated international showcases at A3C, SXSW, and Canadian Music Week, producing events that elevate UK talent on a global stage. She played a pivotal role in introducing and marketing Black Sherif in the UK, driving radio support on BBC and amplifying his reach. She has also secured sync placements and publishing collections for Ghanaian producers, facilitated UK-Ghana artist collaborations, and hosted music industry workshops across Ghana. Her innovative contributions have earned the backing of major institutions, including Sony Music and Digital Catapult’s Black Founders Programme. She is a recipient of the Innovate UK “Begin” Award and winner of Foundervine’s Pitch & Cocktails event 2024. Most notably, she has secured a Metadata Generator Patent from Panasonic, designed to revolutionise metadata accuracy in the music industry. Her extensive background includes roles as a DJ, festival stage curator, artist manager, and PR strategist, as well as a music business educator across universities, colleges, and informal learning spaces. Passionate about leveraging technology for industry transformation, Carla continues to push boundaries at the intersection of music, tech, and financial equity for artists.
