Recording fund for next min-album release in 2021

London-based and NZ native artist Molly Payton released two EPs in 2020 Mess and Porcupine. With production from Oli Barton-Wood (Nilüfer Yanya, Porridge Radio, Sorry), Matt Allchin (Florence and The Machine) and Josh Crocker (Kali Uchis, Celeste). Both emerge as a bold statement of the 19-year-old’s artistic intent. A distillation of the recurring themes of youth and freedom which appear across the EP. With her evocative lyricism, ever-expanding sound, and wry humour as a fixture – they are both a snapshot and introduction to the world of Molly Payton, a bold new talent and most welcome arrival to the UK scene. This award will allow for Molly to follow up on these two releases with a min-album due later in 2021. Which promises to be a even more ambitious and broader step forward for the artist.
