Dapz on the Map: Momentum

One of Birmingham’s foremost performers, Dapz On The Map is an integral part of the next generation of great Grime MCs/singers. He grew up listening to everything from Dancehall, Jungle & Garage to the new sounds of underground Grime & Rap. He combines all of these influences into his own neo-soulful sound, which he developed in his Wolverhampton studio with the guidance of mentor/producer DJ Apostle.

His sound is truly unique and he has shone on stage with many members of Birmingham’s elite group of MCs such as Invasion, Stayfresh & Lady Leshurr, whilst he has also been cosigned by major UK artists such as Boy Better Know, Kano, Ghetts, Shola Ama & many more. Dapz OTM‘s songs touch on various issues, both personal and political and he often talks of the struggle he’s faced as an aspiring artist attempting to balance being both a father and a musician. Soft-spoken yet intense in his passion for words and music, Dapz is a commanding presence well beyond his years, so it’s no surprise that he’s won over audiences around the UK.

Dapz OTM is about to release his solo project DSAW during the coming months, coinciding with a UK tour to promote it and with strong industry support coming from the likes of BBC 1Xtra & bloggers that include SBTV, RWD MAG & MTV, this year could be his best so far.
