Gazelle Twin: Momentum

Gazelle Twin is a moniker for the unsigned composer, producer and musician, Elizabeth Bernholz. Her music is created through an unconventional approach to production and live performance, which feature changing personas.

Her widely acclaimed 2014 album ‘Unflesh’ (Anti-Ghost Moon Ray) was The Quietus’ Album of the Year 2014, featured in The New York Times, NPR’s Top 10 Electronic albums 2014, Uncut’s Top 75 of 2014, Wondering Sound’s Top 100, The Guardian writers’ choice, and BBC Radio 3’s Max Reinhardt described it a “classic of our time”. The album toured extensively, internationally from 2013 to 2015 including performances at Unsound Adelaide, CTM Berlin, Future Everything Singapore, M For Montreal, Brighton Festival, and the Barbican London.

Elizabeth Bernholz frequently collaborates. She created an electronic soundtrack to the play ’Nuclear War’ (Royal Court Theatre, April 2017) by Simon Stephens, directed by Imogen Knight. In 2015, she recorded a cover of Brian Wilson’s ‘Love & Mercy’ for the USA TV programme, The Walking Dead. Her music has been reworked by artists including Clint Mansell, Carter Tutti (Throbbing Gristle), Tara Busch (I Speak Machine), Blanck Mass and Perc, and she has remixed Gary Numan, and John Foxx.
