Holding Absence: Momentum
Holding Absence are an alternative rock band from Cardiff, Wales. Since it’s inception in late 2016, the band has amassed a large worldwide fan base, culminating in a record deal with Sharptone Records and the release of their debut album in March 2019, which topped the UK Metal album chart, went Top 10 in the Rock chart, and Top 40 on the Main Album Chart. Already, the album has amassed over half a million streams on Spotify.
The band undertake their biggest headline tour in March across the UK, with headline shows at Cardiff’s 350-capacity Globe venue, and London’s 500 cap Underworld.
Holding Absence have performed at many major festivals, including Download Festival, Slam Dunk Festival, 2000 Trees and more. The band were awarded ‘Best Breakthrough Act’ at the Cardiff Music Awards in 2018, as well as being in the final 5 nominees for ‘Best New Band’ at the Heavy Music Awards, held at the prestigious KOKO theater in London.
The PRS Foundation Momentum Grant will allow us to capitalise on this early success by funding writing and recording of new material, as well as touring costs and marketing to allow us to reach a greater Worldwide audience.
